Waterborne hull cleaning is a service provided for the US Navy, US Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and many Worldwide Shipping and Cargo company vessels. Marine biofouling can contribute to significant losses in fuel efficiency and vessel operating performance. In-water hull cleaning and removal of accumulated biofouling can restore this lost performance. As a service provider for all of these entities, we are committed to providing rapid service and availability with a commitment to excellence.
UWHI's are accomplished by commercially trained divers to document the structural, paint, marine biofouling and overall condition of the hull, running gear, and underwater body of the vessel. Written reports as well as photo / video documentation are generated for the vessel, agents, owners, and Class Society representatives as necessary.
CCTV cameras for remote viewing of diving operations and directing divers via diver comms from topside is critical for inspection documentation. HD video can also be recorded for Quality Assurance and Insurance purposes.
Polishing a vessels propeller to an 'A' finish or better on the Rupert Scale is ideal for maintaining peak performance with minimal losses due to cavitation.
High pressure cleaning via hydro lance of the sea chest grating is essential when the marine biofouling inhibits water flow through the intakes. Reduced flow causing high engine temperatures is an undesired effect which can be eliminated once the grating has been cleared.
Wet welding is accomplished by divers certified through AWS by Llloyd's registered surveyors.
Vessel operators can encounter a myriad of objects that can get fouled around the running gear. Continued operation with fouled running gear can cause unnecessary damage if not removed.
